Archive for April, 2012

More ATDI updates. They played Trees last night in Dallas and they are playing Lollapalooza this summer in Chicago. Brooklyn Vegan has up a few videos of the show from last night.

Craig Finn is playing Empty Bottle on June 2, 2012. He was pretty good last time, this will be even more fun since it’s a Saturday. I wonder if he’ll find a way onto the Do Division lineup as well.

Remember Q and Not U? Those guys were good:

At The Drive-In made their triumphant return to Austin, TX last night. They played Red 7 and from the videos over at COS it looks like they put on a good show. By my estimate, it’s been 11.5 years since they played a show in Austin. Crazy.

Brooklyn Vegan has some good photos and a video from last week’s Wild Flag show at Metro.

Here’s some Cursive:

According to Chicagoist, the Antlers are playing Do Division Fest. That should be awesome.

Last Friday I saw Wild Flag at Metro. They were amazing as always but I had to leave early. They are playing Pitchfork in July but I’ll be out of town.

Cloud Nothings played Saturday at Schubas and they were great. I believe they played every song off their latest album and even played a few old ones. There is a writeup over at the Trib.

I’m heading out of town this weekend and planning to see Cursive on Friday. Hopefully this show isn’t as crazy as the last time I saw them.

The weather is starting to improve so the bands are starting to visit Chicago again. This should be a good month.

April 5, 2012 – Wild Flag @ Metro

I saw Wild Flag twice last summer but I missed their show in October. They are currently one of my favorite bands. I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while. It should be a great show.

April 6, 2012 – Cloud Nothings @ Schubas

I’m not too familiar with these guys. I know they are young and they are from Ohio. They kind of remind of old school At The Drive-In. I think this one should be fun.

April 9, 2012 – Revival Tour featuring Chuck Ragan, Dan Andriano, Cory Brannan @ Bottom Lounge

This one is going to be lots of acoustic guitars and booze. I’ve never been to a Revival Tour show but it seems right up my alley. Chuck Ragan has been doing the acoustic thing for a while and it’s nice compliment to his work with HWM. Dan recently put out an album and has done a few acoustic tours. I’ve heard a few songs from Cory Brannan and I’ve liked what I’ve heard. I’m still on the fence about going but I think it could be a good time.
