The new Sharon Van Etten album, Tramp, is streaming over at NPR.
I finally listened to this new Cloud Nothings album, Attack On Memory. I’m really digging it. I think I might see them live this spring; they play Schubas on April 6, 2012. Here’s the song “Wasted Days”:
Not too shocking, but Jack White is coming out with a solo album. Read about it over at AV Club.
I was at my parents’ house the other day digging through the closet and I came across this mixtape that I got back in high school. It was actually a pretty solid mix. Looking back, I heard a lot of my favorite bands for the first time on this mixtape. Anyways, here’s what was on it:
Side A
Jeremy Enigk – “Abegail Anne”
Tuesday – “Let The Stars Play”
The Get Up Kids – “Don’t Hate Me”
Texas Is The Reason – “Antique”
Failure – “Stuck On You”
Love Spit Love – “Fall On Tears”
Jimmy Eat World – “Claire”
Karate – “Cherry Coke”
Hoarse – “Issue”
Jawbox – “Iodine”
Sebadoh – “Willing To Trade”
Jawbreaker – “Unlisted Track
”
Side B
The Great Detroit Riverboat Race – “The Death Song”
There are a couple of albums currently streaming that are worth a listen. Over at NPR, you can listen to Craig Finn’s debut solo album, Clear Heart Full Eyes. I’m digging it so far. I can’t wait for his show at Empty Bottle next month
John K. Sampson’s debut full length, Provincial, is streaming over at Exclaim.ca.
