The weather is starting to improve so the bands are starting to visit Chicago again. This should be a good month.

April 5, 2012 – Wild Flag @ Metro

I saw Wild Flag twice last summer but I missed their show in October. They are currently one of my favorite bands. I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while. It should be a great show.

April 6, 2012 – Cloud Nothings @ Schubas

I’m not too familiar with these guys. I know they are young and they are from Ohio. They kind of remind of old school At The Drive-In. I think this one should be fun.

April 9, 2012 – Revival Tour featuring Chuck Ragan, Dan Andriano, Cory Brannan @ Bottom Lounge

This one is going to be lots of acoustic guitars and booze. I’ve never been to a Revival Tour show but it seems right up my alley. Chuck Ragan has been doing the acoustic thing for a while and it’s nice compliment to his work with HWM. Dan recently put out an album and has done a few acoustic tours. I’ve heard a few songs from Cory Brannan and I’ve liked what I’ve heard. I’m still on the fence about going but I think it could be a good time.

Last night was We Were Promised Jetpacks at Metro. They were great as always. They had a ton of energy and the sound was amazing. I’m not sure whether it sold out but there were ton of people there. I’m glad to see that more people are getting into them. The guys handled the transition to Metro with no hangups. They started the set with “Circles and Squares.” They played about an even amount of songs from both albums. They didn’t do an encore and they ended the night with “It’s Thunder and It’s Lightning.” It was a good show and I had a blast.

Alternative Press has an article with Ben Nichols looking back on Lucero’s That Much Further West.

Metro just announced that the Falcon is opening for Naked Raygun. Now I’m even more inclined to go.

I don’t know how I didn’t hear this Chuck Ragan song until today, it features Brian Fallon as well:
